§ 22-3-3-319. Hauled wastewater.

    Hauled wastewater and septic waste may be accepted into the POTW at a designated receiving point within the POTW area, and at such times as are established by the Director, provided such wastes do not violate Sections 22-3-2-310 or 22-3-2-313 of this article or any other requirements established or adopted by the city. No person shall make use of a manhole other than designated by the Director without first contacting the city. Wastewater discharge permits for individual vehicles to haul within the city shall be issued by License and Permits Division and wastewater discharge permits to use the POTW facility for dumping shall be issued by the Director of Public Works/Engineering, their designee or the Wastewater Treatment Plant authorized signatory.

    B.

    The discharge of hauled industrial wastes as "industrial septage" requires prior approval and a wastewater discharge permit from the city. The Director shall have authority to prohibit the disposal of such wastes, if such disposal would interfere with the treatment plant operation. The Director may collect samples of each hauled load to ensure compliance with applicable standards. Waste haulers are subject to all other sections of this article.

    C.

    Industrial waste haulers must provide a waste-tracking form for every load. This form shall include at a minimum, the name and address of the industrial waste hauler, permit number, truck identification, name and address of sources of waste, volume and characteristics of waste, The form shall identify the type of industry, known or suspected waste constituents and whether any wastes are RCRA hazardous wastes.

    D.

    Fees for dumping septage and surcharges which septic tank haulers are subject to will be established as part of the fee schedule.
